Patient Guide

Questions about your Radiation Therapy treatment are only natural. We want you to walk away with as many answers as possible. During your consultation, you and your doctor will discuss your diagnosis in detail. You will learn about treatment options, what they entail, and how AUS Cancer Therapy Center will support you through the process.

Treatment for Radiation Therapy varies for each patient. Many factors come into play for Radiation Treatment such as the type of cancer, its stage and location, and your general health, age, and history. After reviewing the benefits and risks for each of your options, you and your doctor will set a course together.

Our goal is to help you continue your normal life and schedule as much as possible. Of course, patient reactions to treatment may vary. The best way to prepare is to be informed, so we’ll address questions about side effects, treatment frequency, or medications. We’ll also talk about any possible impact on your normal work or life schedule.

You will walk away informed and armed with a plan tailored to your unique needs. If you have follow-up questions later, simply call our office and we will return your call by the end of the business day or, if it’s a weekend, by Monday.

Each treatment plan is unique. Our role, after thorough diagnosis and analysis of your particular situation, is to orchestrate the delivery of an agreed upon plan for you. We provide many treatment services at our facility, while some, such as surgery and chemotherapy, could be coordinated through our office.
